Essential Functions:

The Patient Account Rep/Receptionist will be responsible for:

  • Verifying insurance eligibility/benefits
  • Obtaining/verifying pre-authorizations for surgeries and pain management
  • Communicating patient financial responsibility
  • Checking-in patients
  • Scheduling patients
  • Other business office responsibilities which may include: processing patient/insurance refunds and patient statements
  • The successful candidate will ensure that all patient issues regarding insurance pre authorizations, and cost of care are handled properly

Qualifications and skills:

  • Strong communication skills; Patient Rep. must be able to listen to patients and understand what they need, listen and communicate with insurance providers, doctors, nurses and team members
  • 2+ years’ experience in medical billing and working with insurance companies
  • 2+ years’ patient care experience
  • Ability to use billing systems such as EMR and insurance portals
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail required
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
