This role will be a working manager and will require the knowledge ASC processes and efficiencies as well as the ability to multi-task. In addition, this position will be responsible for developing and maintaining policies and procedures associated with regulatory and accrediting organizations.

Essential Functions:

  • Review staffing plans with Administrator, to determine the number of nursing and professional personnel that are needed in order to provide excellent patient care
  • Review employees time sheets, monitor vacation, sick and education time
  • Work cooperatively with managers to organize department workloads and establish work standards to ensure efficiency and productivity
  • Assure that the facility develops and maintains current standards for licensing, regulatory and accreditation organizations
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all functions within the surgical suite
  • Communicate information to all health care team members regarding patient care and outcome
  • Participate with the Administrator in negotiations contracts with outside services, and continually evaluate their performance (i.e. laundry, housekeeping, biomedical engineering, and laboratory)
  • Assume overall responsibility for charges generated in the ASC and report to Administrator on a regular basis
  • Monitor and review financial data with the Executive Director, including monitoring the associated costs of procedures per Physician
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare team members to influence sound decision making in selection of equipment and supplies
  • Monitor the par levels of the supply and drug inventory. Promote cost containment by sharing the price of supplies and drugs with physicians and staff
  • Verify license and staff privileges for the surgeons at the ASC
  • Ensure performance evaluations are conducted annually for all staff
  • Provide direction and guidance to staff. Serve as a resource in all aspects of ambulatory surgery
  • Encourage a positive team attitude within the entire organization
  • Promote good communication within the department and throughout the organization
  • Display professionalism at work and in the community
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with all state and federal requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the ASC

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a current unrestricted Washington State nursing license
  • Minimum four years of nursing experience in the operating room, recovery room, and/or critical care, with one to two years in a management position
  • Must have and keep current CPR, ACLS, and BLS certifications
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle stressful situations
  • Ability to exercise good judgment when dealing with employees, physicians, and patients
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

Required Experience:

·         Minimum four years of nursing: 4 years
