Orthopedic Physician Associates, a division of Proliance Surgeons, Inc., located minutes from downtown Seattle, is looking for a dynamic individual to join our clinical team as a Medical Assistant/ ATC. Athletic Training certification required.

The primary duties are to provide direct clinical and administrative support to the aligned physician(s), including patient triage of phone calls, questions and correspondence. In this role the ATC would also be a Registered Medical Assistant (MA-R) and we facilitate this.

Skills/Abilities:

  • The ideal candidate will exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Be an organized team player; strong accuracy skills
  • Have outstanding phone etiquette; follow up with patient phone calls in a timely manner
  • Be able to consistently demonstrate a compassionate and positive personality with patients, physicians and staff

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assist aligned physician with patients seen in the office
  • Minor office procedures (removing sutures, dressing changes, etc.)
  • Take history for new patients
  • Answer medical questions in the office and on the phone; screening appointments
  • Patient surgery and test scheduling
  • Pre and post-operative patient education
  • Post-operative follow-up with patients
  • Prescription callbacks
  • Serve as liaison between physician and patient

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and via phone
  • Expertise in exhibiting cooperation, flexibility and providing assistance when interfacing with patients, physicians and staff
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Understanding and respecting the need for confidentiality
  • Consistency and timeliness in attendance

Education/Experience Desired:

  • Certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) required
  • Back office and/or orthopedic practice experience desired
  • EPIC and/or NextGen experience desired
