This individual reports to the Manager of IT Application Services and specifically focuses on Applications that support our Care Centers and Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC).  The onboarding and implementation of ASC’s and Care Centers is a primary function of this role.  They are accountable for the efficient/effective implementation and build of the application product(s), maintaining all aspects of the application, implementation and build, upgrades, updates, support, administration and maintenance on these applications.  This individual interacts with Administrators and ASC Directors in support of workflow analysis, reporting and work efficiency and regulatory projects.  They are responsible for the application training for new groups and staff. Participation in monthly Administrators and  ASC Director Meetings to provide system and workflow status updates as well as receive input on upcoming needs or concerns of the Care Centers and ASC’s. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with customers, user groups, and vendors to gather business requirements; provide gap analysis and technical solutions for the business needs
  • Responsible for the technical and operational installation of systems within ASC/care centers, ensure systems and workflows meet the customer’s needs
  • Analyze and support application events related to merger/affiliation/onboarding and domain migrations events
  • Develop and recommend technical support and software management standards, policies, processes and strategies
  • Develop, design, implement, and evaluate test plans to be used in testing application functionality in support of patches, upgrades, infrastructure and/or desktop configuration changes of multifaceted applications
  • Develop and maintain application technical support documentation
  • Develop and maintain end user application documentation
  • Lead problem management and troubleshooting teams on major system issues
  • Proactively evaluate and make recommendations of emerging technology and standards within the industry in support of our Care Center and ASC’s goals and objectives
  • Use in-depth information and analysis to provide leadership advice and counsel on a variety of business issues which are often highly technical and complex in nature
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams in support of the application and customer needs
  • Respond to and resolve reported incidents according to customer support service level agreements
  • Perform rotational on-call support duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

Certifications/Experience/Education

  • BA/BS in Business or Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience healthcare/IT support, specifically with Ambulatory or Hospital based surgery centers
  • 3-4 years with ambulatory Practice Management or EHR systems preferred  
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with NextGen and/or Amkai application is preferred
  • ITIL certifications a plus
  • Valid WA driver’s license, insurance and dependable vehicle

Skills/Professional and Personal Qualities

  • Working knowledge of Information System principles which include:  requirements definition, analysis, design, systems integration, development and execution of test plans
  • Must have ability to exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing senior analyst tasks
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical customers
  • Understanding of HL7 language/interfaces
  • Exceptional ability to effectively work with management, staff, physicians and vendors
  • Ability to effect, lead and support others through positive change
  • Ability to support multiple system platforms/products
  • Knowledgeable in Meaningful Use and ICD10
  • Proficient in training technical peers, super users and end users
  • Strong written abilities in technical and support documentation
  • Experienced with Microsoft workstation and server operating systems
  • Experienced with Citrix environments
  • Understanding of SQL databases
