Biography

Steven M. Teeny, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in lower extremity reconstruction and sports medicine. He has been practicing medicine since 1989. He treats a full range of orthopedic conditions and keeps current on the newest advances in orthopedic care including total knee replacements, total hip replacements and revision total joint surgery. He has been the principal investigator on numerous breakthrough clinical studies in the areas of senior fall prevention, implant design, and hip and knee arthroplasty.

He enjoys working with all types of people and is always learning from his patients. His greatest satisfaction is restoring a patient to full health and function.

His community involvement includes his former position as an orthopedic physician for Pacific Lutheran University, as well as staffing numerous Washington State high school basketball championships. He is founder of the Northwest Orthopaedic Institute (NWOI), a nonprofit orthopedic research institution that he led for 10 years as the president.

Dr. Teeny is the founder of Project Hope North West, a nonprofit organization with primary mission is to assist persons and organizations that promote physical, mental and spiritual well-being of people, and do so with a Christian perspective and emphasis. He has been a contributor to Clinical Orthopaedics & Related Research, The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, and the Journal of Arthroplasty. He is also a frequent professional poster presenter for AAOS & American Academy of Hip & Knee Surgeons annual meetings.

In his free time, he enjoys golf, running, and skiing with his family.
