Total Joint Replacement

Proliance Surgeons offers the state of the art orthopedic surgical care throughout the Puget Sound region.  Combined our surgeons perform thousands of total joint procedures each year.

Whether you have just begun exploring trea tment options or have already decided with your orthopaedic surgeon to undergo hip replacement surgery.  If your hip has been damaged by arthritis, a fracture or other conditions, common activities such as walking or getting in and out of a chair may be painful and difficult. Your hip may be stiff and it may be hard to put on your shoes and socks. You may even feel uncomfortable while resting.

If medications, changes in your everyday activities, and the use of walking aids such as a cane are not helpful, you may want to consider hip replacement surgery. By replacing your diseased hip joint with an artificial joint, hip replacement surgery can relieve your pain, increase motion, and help you get back to enjoying normal, everyday activities.

There are a number of hip procedures performed on patients based on their needs.  In consultation with your surgeon you can determine what procedure is best for you.  Our surgeons perform hip replacements, hip resurfacing, minimally invasive total hip replacements all with a variety of surgical implants.  Make an appointment today to get started.

Total Knee Replacement

If your knee is severely damaged by arthritis or injury, it may be hard for you to perform simple activities such as walking or climbing stairs. You may even begin to feel pain while you are sitting or lying down.

If medications, changing your activity level, and using walking supports are no longer helpful, you may want to consider total knee replacement surgery. By resurfacing the damaged and worn surfaces of the knee can relieve pain, correct leg deformity and help resume normal activities.

There are a number of surgical advances that have taken place in the past decade.  Many patients may be able to have less invasive knee procedures such as a Unicompartmental Knee arthroplasty or a partial Knee Replacement.  Traditionally patients have undergone a total knee replacement for severe arthritis of the knee. In a total knee replacement, all cartilage is removed from the knee joint, and a metal and plastic implant is substituted.

The partial knee replacement surgical procedure has generated significant interest because it entails a smaller incision and faster recovery than traditional total joint replacement surgery. Partial knee replacement, also called unicompartmental knee replacement' and 'minimally invasive knee surgery,' removes only the most damaged areas of cartilage, and replaces these surfaces.   A consultation with one of our surgeons can help you determine if you are a candidate.
