This is a part-time or per diem need depending on what you are looking for.  Full-time is not available at this time. The right candidate must be available on Wednesdays and Fridays at a minimum. Experience with a variety of spine procedures and pain related injections is required for this position.

Essential Functions:

  • The Radiology Technician (R.T.), under minimum supervision, performs a variety of duties in the department as a member of the clinical team
  • The R.T. performs x-ray procedures in the operating and special procedure rooms
  • The R.T. is responsible for the processing of any films and for maintaining and documenting equipment in proper calibration
  • May assist in the opening of the supplies/equipment for surgical and special procedure cases
  • May assists in the preparation of cases by “picking cases”

Skill Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform all radiology functions according to Center policies and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate sterile and aseptic technique
  • Ability to manage radiology equipment in the operating rooms during a surgical procedure in a manner that assures maintenance of the sterile field
  • Knowledge of, and ability to, disinfect and clean all radiology equipment
  • Ability to operate all radiology equipment used in the Center
  • Ability to prioritize and have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in stressful situations
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work with others within a team environment

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assembles necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduled procedures according to the physician’s preference card
  • Tests and monitors equipment for proper working condition
  • Confirms that all persons in the room are properly shielded before activating x-ray
  • Follows principles and aseptic technique in performing duties during the procedure
  • Remains available during the procedure to provide timely response to surgeon or patient needs
  • Follows manufacturer’s specifications when performing x-ray procedures
  • Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide availability and safety
  • May assist in Center suite maintenance including case preparation, turn-over and terminal cleaning
  • Assist with inventory control and stocking of supplies
  • Documents according to Center policy

Physical Requirements:

  • Good visual and hearing acuity
  • Ability to lift/transfer patients in excess of 100 pounds, which may require pushing, pulling, and utilizing a full range of body movements
  • Ability to stand walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl
  • Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Periodic exposure to possible injury when lifting requires proper body mechanics and adherence to safety procedures

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited training program. A.A.R.T. Certification required
  • Minimum two years radiology technician experience required. Experience with special procedures preferred
  • Successful completion of BCLS
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills in order to facilitate effective interaction with a variety of health care professionals and personnel
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and have the capability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to flex work hours as needed and/or requested by management
