Medical Assistants play a critical role by supporting the work of the physician and physician assistant in the delivery of care.
Greet and room patients in a clinic setting Obtain vital signs and gather pertinent patient information Inform patients of lab results, call in prescriptions to pharmacies and return providers phone messages Accurately update electronic medical record (EMR) Coordinates patient visit and eases congestion in clinic with quick turnover of patients Keeps rooms stocked and organized Organizes paperwork and filing Coordinates with front office personnel and ancillary staff in professional and positive manner in adherence of policies and procedures in support of patient service Communicates provider instructions to hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, etc. Schedules tests properly, obtains outside records and images as needed prior to patients appointment
High School Diploma/GED Medical Assistant License, Certification, or Registration
