This position will be a valued member of our ASC team.  As a coder/biller you will be responsible for overseeing medical coding and billing for all surgical cases.  This position will also post payments and denials along with other revenue cycle functions.  

Main Duties and Responsibilities:                          

  • Reviews/audits and interprets surgical documentation to identify pertinent diagnosis/procedure and apply correct ICD10/CPT codes keeping with coding guidelines
  • Demonstrates appropriate utilization of coding software and coding reference material
  • Keeps up to date on carrier policies/guidelines
  • Daily charge entry/billing
  • Accurately posts payments and/or denials via ERA and paper remits
  • Accurately records denials with appropriate reason codes
  • Runs daily deposit reports for balancing
  • Research unidentified payments and/or recoupments to determine appropriate resolution
  • Research denied, delayed and underpaid claims
  • Insurance and patient AR
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years coding/medical billing experience
  • ASC billing experience preferred
  • Must be CPC certified by the AAPC
  • ICD10 certified and/or extensive work experience
  • Self-motivated team player able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Detail oriented
  • Professional and etiquette
  • Knows how to find and read EOB’s
  • Ability to navigate insurance carrier’s websites
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Nextgen and Amkai experience preferred
