BOTOX & Dysport
Wrinkles occur over time due to constant contraction of muscles in our face where they insert into the skin. In small amounts, botulinum toxins such as Botox and Dysport act to temporarily reduce muscle activity in problem areas—and thus diminish wrinkles and creases. Botox and Dysport are extremely safe and can target multiple areas in the face, treating frown lines, forehead wrinkles, periorbital wrinkles (crow’s feet), bands in the neck, and drooping mouth corners.
While anesthesia is not typically required for Botox and Dysport injections, we often use anesthetic cream to eliminate any potential discomfort from the injection(s). While everyone heals differently, most patients can return to their normal lifestyle the same day or the day following treatment, with minimal swelling or bruising. Botox and Dysport will take up to a week to take effect and generally last for three to four months before gradually wearing off.
If you do not have wrinkles currently, Botox and Dysport can help prevent them from ever forming. We customize the amount of Botox or Dysport we use in each patient, as each patient will require differing amounts to be effective.
We often combine Botox or Dysport with other invasive and noninvasive treatments for the desired, natural result. It should be noted that Botox or Dysport may not help patients with severe, deep wrinkles. Other treatment modalities can be utilized in these circumstances.

We perform an extensive amount of reconstructive surgery for congenital deformities or facial anomalies, scar revision, skin cancer reconstruction (Mohs surgery), and trauma. These cases are often very challenging and can range from nasal or facial fractures to complex total facial reconstruction. Having a surgeon who performs both reconstructive and cosmetic surgery gives a patient the highest level of care possible.
