The Medical assistant works closely with the patient, surgeon, and nurse, to help coordinate a plan of care for the patient. They facilitate tests, process paperwork as needed, and assist the nurse with clinical duties as directed.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Take vitals, and room patients
Ability to prioritize, and multi-task
Knowledge of ENT, Potential for traihing in Allergy Center
Computer skills, use of Next Gen EPM & EHR
Request medical records from referring providers
Give post operative and pre operative instructions to patients
Assist physicians with office surgeries
Stock exam and procedure rooms
Complete lab requisition forms
Processing referrals and FMLA forms
Superior bedside manner, be energetic with a positive, arid friendly demeanor
Great interpersonal skills; demonstrating patience, composure and cooperation, working well with all patients, physicians and staff
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Excellent attention to detail, highly organized
Punctual, dependable, and most importantly a great team player
Understanding and adherence to consistent respect for confidentiality (HIPAA)
Education / Experience
High school graduate or GED
Current WA State Certified Medical Assistant license Minimum 2 years of clinical medical assistant experience
Knowledge of ENT preferred
Experience with Next Gen is a plus
