HR Generalist

Position Summary

Our generalists fulfill the role of front-line contact and service representative to teammates throughout the organization to create a positive employee experience, offering consistent HR advice on teammate matters. They operate and are seen as subject matter experts, having sound knowledge and/or demonstrating to ability to obtain such knowledge, in company and local programs, processes and policies. They offer grounded, useful information around HR related matters, thus building credibility. They are committed to collaboration with the HR team and multiple teammate managers across the organization. A key area of focus is to increase manager capability toward self-sufficiency and to support teammate understanding on important programs, policies, tools, and processes.

• Fulfill the role of “first responder” for HR service. Monitor the communications sent to the HR email mailboxes, researching (as needed) responses, seeking key resources (e.g., payroll, legal) for expert input and/or distributing the request to the appropriate area for consideration and resolution.
• Helps to identify improvements and/or additions to the UltiPro system to assist in the overall optimization of our HRIS systems, including efficiently updating employee records, managing benefit enrollment, streamlining our recruiting and performance management programs, etc. Continue to increase HRIS expertise to positively impact HR.
• Answering and supporting employee benefit related questions by building your benefit knowledge on our plans and policy’s. Provide benefit plan and process recommendations to HR Leadership. May be responsible for day-to-day benefit administration including employee enrollment, monthly reconciliation, and benefit system updates.
• Administer Leave of Absence programs for your client support group. Actively participate in continual program improvements.
• Manage and support the Employee Onboarding process by ensuring all new hires are entered into our HRIS accurately with all required documentation, including background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Provides support to the Talent Acquisition team as need on various projects, including employee orientation and candidate outreach programs.
• Provide support to our Employee Relations & Culture team by assisting with projects and being advocate for the company’s culture initiatives.
• Provide support to the company’s learning and development programs by ensuring all teammates are compliant in their training programs along with identifying potential training programs / classes to implement.
• Participate in the conversion of the current “Employee Handbook” to our new “Teammate Guide,” which captures and promotes the culture and atmosphere within which we work; help to build and deliver employee communications related to the teammate experience.
• Support Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee/Work group to assess, develop and continuously improve our inclusive teammate environment.
• Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including compensation; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety.

• Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
• Maintain knowledge of and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
• Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• All other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, a related field or commensurate progressive on the job training required.
• 3 years of progressive human resource experience preferred.
• SHRM-CP or PHR a plus.
