Proliance Southwest Seattle Orthopedics has been operated in Burien since 1987, our mission is to provide quality orthopedic care for the Southwest Seattle Community. We provide comprehensive care in virtually all orthopedic specialties.

Position Summary 

The Patient Services Rep is responsible for patient scheduling, data entry of insurance information, general patient inquires, scanning and more. Medical office and reception experience is required, be able to learn quickly, be very detail oriented, have excellent written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to maintain composure during stressful situations. The ideal candidate will be friendly, motivated and work well in a team environment. Our valuable front office staff is our patient’s first impression of our clinic!

HOURS: Full time; Monday – Friday

The Patient Services Rep is expected to perform position-related duties that include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide excellent patient service
  • Checking insurance eligibility and obtaining referrals
  • Checking patients in/out, data entry of insurance information, pcp, pharmacy etc
  • Scheduling appointments and interpreters (as needed)
  • Collecting patient copays and balances
  • Answering multi-line phones and communicating messages
  • Scan documents into patient charts

Other duties as assigned

The essential qualities necessary include, but are not limited to:

  • Great interpersonal skills; demonstrating patience, composure, and cooperation; working well independently as well as with the team of physicians and staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to ensure effective communication with physicians, patients, family members and the health care community
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management
  • Comprehension of basic medical terminology
  • Ability to work collaboratively under pressure, and multitask
  • EMR experience in Nextgen and EPIC a PLUS!
  • Consistency and timeliness in attendance
  • High school diploma.
  • At least 1 year of medical reception experience.
  • Data entry experience.
  • NextGen experience would be ideal.

  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
  • This position may be stressful at times.
  • Working 40 hours per week. Some responsibilities may require longer work hours in order to complete assignments.
