Overview

Position Summary

The Edmonds Center for Outpatient Surgery (ECOS), a division of Proliance Surgeons, is currently seeking a less than full-time (32 hours a week, Tuesday through Friday, 5:30am – 2:00pm) for a Front Desk Receptionist/Clerical Support position. As we grow this position has the potential to be a 40 hour a week position. This person would be responsible for creating an exceptional patient experience by delivering outstanding customer service. In addition, would be responsible for the coordination of patient care, greeting patients and checking them in for surgery and maintaining the current protocols under the current COVID guidelines.

Pay rate – $20-$23/hour, plus a $400 sign-on bonus!

This position works closely with the scheduling team, the business office Lead and the Administrative Directors.

1. Greet patients in a manner which is respectful and courteous, making them feel comfortable and welcome.
2. Schedule and coordinate appointments as directed.
3. Answer phone calls courteously, collect and document detailed information and route phone calls appropriately
4. Accurately prepare patient charts
5. Check-in patients, verify all demographic and insurance information, collect all required co-pays, update account information as necessary…
6. Maintain an organized and clean work area, as well as patient waiting area
7. Efficiently provide basic office administrative support tasks such as mailing, faxing, sorting, typing, filing, etc.
8. Participate and contribute in a team-based environment.
9. Maintain a team supportive attendance record.
10. Follow HIPAA regulations and COVID guidelines.
11. Adapt and perform effectively in a continuously changing environment
12. Communication, conduct and dress portray a professional quality at all times.
13. Other duties as assigned.

3. Knowledge medical terminology preferred.
4. Great interpersonal skills; demonstrating patience, composure and cooperation; working well with all patients, physicians and staff.
5. Understanding of and adherence to all safety, risk management and precautionary procedures, including the consistent respect for confidentiality (HIPAA)

Education/Experience/Skills
1. High School Diploma with some college preferred.
2. Two-years of experience in a medical practice is preferred.
3. Experience in a medical and or surgery center is strongly preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
1. Problem solving skills
2. Skill in using a computer
3. Customer Service
4. Outpatient clinical organizational ability

• Some bending and stretching required. Use of telephone is required.
• Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
