Position Summary

Proliance South Seattle Otolaryngology is seeking a full-time medical front office receptionist for our busy surgical clinic.
Candidates MUST have 2 years of medical office experience; be able to learn quickly, be detail oriented, have strong verbal & written communication skills. Have the ability to maintain composure during stressful situations. The ideal candidate will be friendly, a self-starter and be a strong team member. Our patient’s first impression of our clinic is our valuable front office staff.

Hours: Full-time – Monday to Friday
No weekends

• Process all patients for appointments and documentation.
• Answering multi-line phones.
• Check-in & register patients, verify information for established patient & update patient information in computer.
• Process all patients for appointments and documentation.
• Perform data entry of patient demographics and appointment information.
• Collect insurance copayments during patient check-in.
• Assists in general clerical duties to include but limited to operative of computerized patient scheduling system, copier, fax machine, postage meter, prepping patient charts.
• Perform similar and incidental duties as assigned.
• Scan documents into patient charts.
• Perform other similar duties as assigned.

• Excellent customer service.
• Minimum of 2 years of medical office experience, preferably in a specialty clinic.
• Knowledge and experience working with Nextgen PM and EMR, Outlook preferred but not essential.
• Must have knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must have skills for basic computer/keyboard functions.
• Must be able to prioritize work and establish priorities.
• Have excellent written and verbal skills.
• Possess great interpersonal skills.
• Use time efficiently with attention to quality, detail, accuracy and completion.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
• Must be able to speak, read and write the English language.

• High school diploma.
• Completion of medical terminology or anatomy/physiology course in a related field preferred.
• One year of previous customer service experience preferred.

• High frequency of telephone use and computer use.
• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Frequent bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, kneeling and squatting.
• Occasionally lift and carry items weighing 25-30 lbs.
• Work 40 hours per week.
