Skagit Northwest Orthopedics has two surgery centers that are located in the beautiful Skagit Valley. Our group of 9 Physicians specialize in Orthopedic Surgery and Pain Management.

Position Summary

The RN in the ASC provides expert professional nursing care for the patient in all peri-operative phases. The RN is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care through the process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The RN is responsible for using sound judgment, interpersonal communication skills and critical thinking skills, and can check and evaluate the patient’s needs, ensuring a positive outcome.

  • Problem solving skills
  • Skill in using a computer
  • Knowledge of orthopedics
  • Outpatient clinical organizational ability
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Great interpersonal skills; demonstrating patience, composure and cooperation; working well with all patients, physicians and staff.
  • Understanding of and adherence to all safety, risk management and precautionary procedures, including the consistent respect for confidentiality (HIPAA)

Education/Experience

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current BLS and ACLS accreditation
  • OR Circulating experience preferred

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Problem solving skills
  • Skill in using a computer
  • Knowledge of orthopedics
  • Outpatient clinical organizational ability

  • Some bending and stretching required
  • Use of telephone is required
  • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours
