Overview

Position Summary

We are seeking a certified Sterile Processing Technician to support our surgical teams in providing top-quality health care and central sterile services. You bring enthusiasm and experience to our team of dedicated medical professionals, together creating meaningful solutions to health and wellness. You ensure all medical and surgical equipment is sterile and available for both scheduled and emergency use in the operating room. Additionally, you maintain all sterilization and decontamination equipment. Collaboration is key, and you bring clear communication skills to set expectations and solve problems.

• Use equipment to sterilize and decontaminate surgical and patient-care equipment
• Log usage and maintain sterilization and decontamination equipment
• Receive and track equipment from outside vendors
• Collaborate with surgery team leads to ensure timely processing and availability of critical equipment

• Great interpersonal skills; demonstrating patience, composure, and cooperation; working well with all patients, physicians, and staff.
• Understanding of and adherence to all safety, risk management and precautionary procedures, including the consistent respect for confidentiality (HIPAA)
• Critical thinking and proactive mindset.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current licensure as a Sterile Processing Technician or obtain within 90 days of hire. (IAHCSMM and CBSPD)
• Prior relevant experience in a health care environment

• Some bending and stretching required.
• Long periods of standing
• Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard and surgical instruments
• Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds. Requires working under stressful conditions and working some irregular hours.
