Sonographer – Ultrasound Technologist

Position Summary

We have an exceptional opportunity for a day-shift diagnostic sonographer with openings for full-time and per-diem sonographers. We are committed to attracting and retaining diverse staff. Your experience, perspective and identity will be honored.

We are seeking a motivated sonographer passionate about obstetrics to provide excellent patient care services using the latest scanning technology to perform obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound examinations. Our sonographers run their own rooms in a collaborative environment. The position does not require call coverage. Our employees enjoy paid time off for major holidays and paid parking.

• Perform diagnostic medical ultrasound examinations independently, accurately, and efficiently to provide the highest level of quality patient care.
• Evaluate and assess patients’ conditions based on information from referring providers, chart review, and patient interviews.
• Understand and follow established exam protocols, as well as work in partnership with leadership to make improvements to protocols and workflow as our practice evolves.
• Prepare preliminary worksheets used to communicate pertinent clinical information and discuss ultrasound findings with the reading radiologist.
• Demonstrate excellent time-management skills to meet the demands of our busy out-patient clinic, including setting appropriate priorities, working efficiently, and maintaining accuracy.
• Set up examination rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are ready.
• Maintain a patient-ready environment by restocking rooms, noting supply shortages, and reporting technical issues with any equipment.

• Work as part of a team at the direction of the practice administrator, lead sonographer, and front-end supervisor.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment with fellow sonographers, maintaining flexibility as circumstances require.
• Maintain adaptability and balance to foster a positive, friendly, and sympathetic atmosphere for staff and patients.
• Demonstrate professionalism and effective interpersonal skills with staff and patients.

  • • Successful completion of an accredited ultrasound training program (2-year or 4-year program).
    • RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)-certified or eligible in OB/GYN. For new graduates, registered status will be required within 6 months of start date.
    • One (1) year of experience as an ultrasound technologist or ultrasound intern with OB-GYN experience.
    • Nuchal translucency (NT) certified, preferred at time of start; required within 6-months of start date.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA-accredited).
