Overview
Proliance general surgeons can help with a wide variety of concerns or treatments:
Colorectal Surgery
A field of medicine that focuses on repairing damage caused by colorectal diseases. The damage can occur in the bowel, colon, rectum, and anus that may require either minimally invasive or complex surgeries in the lowest parts of the digestive tract.
Gastrointestinal
Conditions and diseases relating to the stomach and intestines, from the mouth to the anus. There are two primary types of GI diseases: functional and structural.
Breast Surgery
A procedure to modify a woman or man’s breasts. These operations can be performed for a variety of reasons, from cancer treatments to breast reduction and cosmetic reasons.
Gallbladder Inflammation (Cholecystitis)
Also known as cholecystitis, a blockage that prevents bile from exiting the organ. It’s an extremely painful condition that requires surgery for long-term symptom relief.
Minimally Invasive Surgery
An operation is performed using small incisions and likely a laparoscope to help guide the surgeon. This category of procedures is associated with less pain and shorter hospital stays, as well as fewer complications.
Robotic Surgery
An operation is performed using mechanical arms that are controlled by the surgeon. The arms have surgical instruments and a camera, often used in minimally invasive procedures as the arms help avoid the need for large incisions.
